Vibe Alive

From August 17-19 2010, ten Year 4-7 students, Karla Ridsdale, Noel Wilton, and Sarah Mason attended the Vibe Alive Festival in Port Augusta. The students participated in lots of different activities including dancing, sport, painting, health awareness & future/careers planning.

We met many Indigenous role models, including Kevin Kropinyeri, a Ngarrindjeri comedian (above) who was really funny, and the Indigenous hip-hop crew (below) who showed us some cool dance moves.

In the painting competition, we came 1st out of 43 teams! The theme was what we wanted to do when we grow up. These jobs included explorer, rap artist, archaeologist, and the army.

We had been practicing our dance for weeks and it paid off! We were picked by the judges to dance at the concert on Wednesday night in front of over 500 people. Overall in the competition we came 17th out of 110 teams.

Well done everyone!
